8 shots later i forgot what i wanted to write about. anyway there's this strange feeling like this place ain't for me. i'm dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt. my drunk turned into loneliness. it's 8pm, the road's empty, i'm under the tent at the bar where i downed those 8 shots. the road is long. still 9 hours to go. she's hands deep under the hood of the car.9 more hours of highway and her and the hum of the tires. you think about how fast everything happens. one minute you're here, next minute you're looking back and it's already a memory, like a memory of a movie. but right now it's not yet. right now it's just this — the yellow light. the warm air. the way she laughs at something you said, and you vaguely remember what it was — you just know it happened.a hint of thought about the past. it's ok. all of them are safe. it's over. you think to yourself: it was one hell of a drive. and you have nine more hours.
